Howl's Moving Castle
Having returned from the Za-Zen meditation session, I decided to combine my humble dinner of two bananas and three oranges with a movie, and so I watched the Howl's Moving Castle. Despite the fact that I don't like anime much, this film was very enjoyable. Now, I've only seen Miyazaki's Mononoke before this one, but I can already say that he likes shapeless blobbs, which are redundatly appearing through both movies. Although in Howl the blobbs got themselves at least hats, so they didn't all that shapeless. I liked the film, because I though that it had good characters, good character growth (of the main ones), and a rather original story. I didn't really like the very cheezy end where she kisses everything she sees and it all becomes uncursed. But the suspense moments right before that were suspency enough to almost make me cry.
Conclusion, because I am too lazy to type more - good film, fun show. Recommended to those who like magic and can stand Japanese cartoons.

I've been commenting on exactly that, myself. The sludge also shows up in Spirited Away (though not Kiki's Delivery Service, to the best of my recollection).
