The sun came up about twenty minutes ago. One of the main ways I tell a good movie from a bad one, is how well does it keep my attention, how well does it keep me awake. When I started watching Goodfellas, it was three o'clock in the morning, and I was seriously concerned that I wouldn't be able to stay up long enough to finish this two and a half hour film. I was wrong. I watched it all, and enjoyed every moment of it.
The movie has great actors and great acting. It is a gangster movie with a happy end. Godfather showed how the perfect gangster was very unhappy in the end. This film showed a rather avarage (because he wasn't italian) gangster do his best, turn everyone in and live happily ever after in the witness protection program.
Of all the movies recently watched, this one was seriously reminding of Blow. Very similiar film in very many directions. And why is it that I keep watching all these drug-retaled movies? :)
