Last night I decided to watch "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" - it was one in the morning, and I was pretty buzzed up when I started, and it was not a big surprise that I started falling asleep half-way though. When the movie ended, I simply collapsed on my bed - then I slept so hard that I even overslept the only class that I had today. But when I did come to - I watched the last half an hour of the film again. That ending sequence where he overdozes on that organic drug thingy and then tries to remember what happened walking through the flooded room and listening to his tape recorder. Now I recall every moment of the film, but, unfortunately, can't make much sense out of it. Is it trying to show that the hippies were wrong to equate world peace and acid? Or what? I really didn't get the main idea. Please, do explain to me the film, if you can. All help is appreciated. :) And now I go to Tokyo! :)
Added later: I talked to my housemates and learned that the movie was biographical, talking about some Thompson guy, father of some "gonzo" journalism. I read up on his biography and understood some of what had that movie tried to say. Ha!
