RINGU
Having failed to spend the evening with either of six girls that I could choose of, I figured that I should see something really scary as a type of a masacistic motion. So I came home and saw "Ringu" (the original Japanese film that "The Ring" is based on).

I bought the last pizza in my life from the Delfinen pizza, came home and watched it in the dark with only a candle glowing. My phone rang three times during the film.

Overall - good movie, but not at all scary. It was made even less scary by me knowing the plot in advance and by many scenes looking like "Fear Dot Com" that I laughed all the way through. My question now - should I see "The Ring" to compare?

Now Anton came with a guitar and we will sing the night through.

Current Mood: singing
Current Music: Anton - Sabaka byvaet kusachei

I can't say anything since I haven't seen the Japanese one yet, but Japanese people like the kind of psychological mind games that make you paranoid. I've heard that image-wise the Japanese one is scarier, overall the American one is scarier. *shrugs*

It's because of that movie that I can no longer pretend to be Cousin Itt from the Addams Family with my hair in front of my face. Now it's Sadako.

The Grudge is also based on a Japanese film: Juon which looks scary and I don't do well with that kind of movie. Same with Chakushin Ari. That one especially because the cursed cell phone was the same model as the one I was using when the movie came out.

Japanese nights are scarier than American ones. I think there are more spirits here. And it's darker in ways that don't have to do with light.

Okies, I'm off to teach class. Have fun singing!

Right... I watched this at a theater and I thought it was the scariest thing I have ever seen (which it probably was since I don't ever match anything remotely scary). Eeeew

В кино ты могла смотреть только Американскую версию, а я смотрел Японскую! Совершенно разные фильмы.

I'd see the Ring, just to gawk at Amber Tamblyn in a schoolgirl outfit. The kid in that movie is creepy, and I don't mean Samara.

I should pop in the VCD I was given with "Ringu" on it. I haven't watched it yet, and I've had it since "the Ring" came out.
